Wah Lum Warrior Spirit Scholarship Award seeks to recognize and provide support to graduating high school students who have shown exceptional perseverance in overcoming special adversity during their school careers, and have developed a meaningful plan for their future. Kung fu, one of the chief martial arts taught at Wah Lum Academy, is understood as “hard work and perseverance”; with the Warrior Spirit Award, we are seeking to honor the great labor young people go through in overcoming hardship from within and without, and the special effort needed to transform their experiences into a meaningful trajectory in their lives and that of their community.
NOMINATIONS AND SUBMISION DEADLINE
Nominations can be made by educators, guidance counselors or others who have knowledge of the nominated student’s circumstances; nominations can also be made by the student’s peers, or by the student themselves. In order that we have sufficient time to pursue nominations and make our decisions, we ask that all nominators submit their forms by no later than April 30, 2017.
